The Witch Hunter (The Witch Hunter #1)by Virginia Boecker
Release Date: June 2, 2015
Goodreads Summary:
Elizabeth Grey is one of the king's best witch hunters, devoted to rooting out witchcraft and doling out justice. But when she's accused of being a witch herself, Elizabeth is arrested and sentenced to burn at the stake.Salvation comes from a man she thought was her enemy. Nicholas Perevil, the most powerful and dangerous wizard in the kingdom, offers her a deal: he will save her from execution if she can break the deadly curse that's been laid upon him.
But Nicholas and his followers know nothing of Elizabeth's witch hunting past--if they find out, the stake will be the least of her worries. And as she's thrust into the magical world of witches, ghosts, pirates, and one all-too-handsome healer, Elizabeth is forced to redefine her ideas of right and wrong, of friends and enemies, and of love and hate.
Virginia Boecker weaves a riveting tale of magic, betrayal, and sacrifice in this unforgettable fantasy debut.
My Thoughts 5 STARS!!!
Oh man you guys, I really didn't know what to expect from The Witch Hunter. It looked good and people said so.
BUT I DIDN'T KNOW HOW FUNNY IT WAS GOING TO BE!
I was so pleasantly surprised to discover all the humor this book had to offer. I'm not sure if I've EVER literally laughed out loud as much as I did during this book. There are lines that if I think about them, I start laughing again.

The Story:
The story is about a girl who grew up orphaned and trained to be one of the King's elite Witch Hunters. As the story progresses she's tried as a witch and is sentence to die! Witch craft is NOT tolerated at all! Elizabeth, our main character, is thrown into a whole new world she was raised to fear and hate. She will discover along the way things aren't what she's always been told.
New Book Boyfriend! Yep, you heard me. I've added another guy to my list of book boyfriends. His name is John... You need to read it just so you can meet John. He doesn't play games or dance around feelings like other guys do sometimes in books.
The Characters!
Seriously, all the characters are SPOT ON! Sometimes in books you may like a few of the characters but every single one, even minor characters were exceptionally developed. I knew exactly what they looked like and understood their personalities. Some are evil, fun, snarky, angry, mysterious. I loved them ALL!
Overall:
The Witch Hunter is one of my FAVORITE books I've read all year. There were feels, heart pumping action, and lots of laughs. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone who loves fantasy, romance, and humor to definitely pick up a copy!
The humour and the great characters and the fact that is right there with Orphan Queen for you has totally sold me on this one! Trying to get a copy at BEA for sure!!
